The Path of Hope Campaign

Last year, Birmingham Group Health Services, Inc. (BGHS) celebrated our 30th Anniversary as a community-based, non-profit mental health service provider. In honor of this milestone, and in an effort to ensure that the vital services provided by BGHS will continue in the future, BGHS is actively raising dollars through our 30th Anniversary Path of Hope Campaign.

The goal of the Path of Hope Campaign is to raise $30,000 over the next year...

The Need... Last year, BGHS assisted over 4,000 adults and youth through our outpatient clinic, community support, and rehabilitation services programs. Over 9,000 women and children through The Umbrella and Domestic Violence Services of Greater New Haven programs.

Each year... the demand for our services continues to increase, while federal and state funding continues to decrease. Most recently, the impact of a struggling economy has hit us doubly hard. As more and more citizens find themselves in crisis and in need for services, BGHS must search out new avenues of revenue to replace traditional funding sources and keep pace with growing community needs.

How you can help...You can help BGHS continue in its role as a critical safety net to those in need, by making a donation to the Path of Hope Campaign. No donation is too large or too small and every dollar will mean so much to an individual, family, or child in need. For example:

~ A $30 donation will help provide a BGHS consumer with a monthly CT Transit Bus pass, so that he/she can get to and from work.

~ A $300 donation will help provide 5 nights of emergency safe shelter for a woman and her children fleeing domestic abuse.

~ A $1,300 donation will provide an entire day of alcohol, drug, and/or tobacco use prevention presentations at a local school.

~ A $3,000 donation will help provide one month of medication for a person or child with special needs.

~ And a $30,000 donation will help elders who are being abused, obtain safety and support services for 6 months.
