A wrongful death can cost an employer over $800,000 for
failing to assist an employee who is at risk for
domestic violence on the job. Thirty-one percent of the
people who were injured or killed in workplace attacks
due to domestic violence were not actually victims
themselves but bystanders, co-workers or supervisors.
Ninety-four percent of corporate security directors rank
domestic violence as a “high security risk.”
The Umbrella, a program of Birmingham Group Health
Services, Inc., will be hosting this domestic violence
workshop focusing on the effects of domestic violence in
the workplace and the role of the employer.
