2nd Annual Valley Town Hall Meeting
Presented by VSAAC

On Tuesday, October 23rd, 2007, VSAAC, in conjunction with Comcast Cable, presented The Valley Town Hall Meeting to Turn on The Lights.  The meeting, which was televised live on Comcast Cable's Channel 16, was held as part of a national campaign to take our children back from today’s “toxic culture.”

The most effective way to save young lives is to talk with our children openly and honestly about the dangers they face everyday - yet, many parents find it difficult to know how or when to start a conversation with their children about the subject.  To make matters worse, research shows that parents of teens generally underestimate the extent of alcohol and/or drug use among youth and the corresponding negative consequences.

The Valley Town Hall Meeting to "Turn on The Lights" was designed to give parents across the Valley the real “facts” about today’s toxic culture as experienced through the eyes of our children; offer tips about how to talk to our children about the issues; and provide information about prevention resources, programs and services that are available in our community.

The Valley Town Hall Meeting will be televised on Comcast Cable's Channel 16 throughout the coming months.  Contact Comcast for exact times and dates.
